Default loosing oil

So i think im loosing the rear main seal in my car... a few drops of oil werent really that big of a deal to me but now its leaking alot more... its coming from in front of the tranny and ive heard of it being the back side of the intake manifold but it was just off a couple months ago and was re-...sealed (RTV'd) when it went back on... I really am not looking foward to dropping the tranny to get to the seal. Also i know if i get the tranny off im going to want to put a new clutch in which just takes more $$$ out of the pockets. Anything else it could be?

Check the manifold again, if not done exactly right it will leak again within a short time.

It would probably help if you tightened it instead of loosened it [8D]

if ur oil is too loose try mixing it with a clockwise motion. righty tighty after all

sorry, i really tried not to, it was just too funny (to me...) to not do it.

if ur losing oil the FIRST thing to do is to identify exactly where its coming from. get under the car and try to locate the highest point at which you see oil - check around the bell housing, the head seams, and the intake manifold seam

I was told that when fixing the intake manifold leak, alot of the manifolds would need machining to not simply begin leaking again. Something with crappy casting and the egr heating up the back, and the gasket just band-aiding the problem.

I havent been able to get under the car cause im stuck at school... hopefully i can get home soon to find the problem/fix it. Ill check the manifold... maybe it didnt seal well enough when it went back on.

Or maybe i can find someone with an oil wrench and just tighten the oil up which should just fix everything[8D]
