i jus got my long tubes headers but i cant find a shop that will do my exhaust without putting on a cat. and they talkin $1000 jus for a y pipe and cat. hell no to that. my current exhaust is straight 3' pipe wit a quite muffler(not sure what brand). if i get short headers i can use my current y pipe and do exhaust cut-outs will that be just as good when the cut outs are open? if not i was gonna go to kentucky and get it done but id rather not make that long drive wit jus hearders.

 

you really should get the catted y pipe that is designed for your headers, what headers did you get? shorty's are imo a good sounding stock exhaust. dont get much gain from them but they sound better.

 

You won't be able to make a long trip with just headers. The car will stall after about 10 miles. Because you will be missing two O2 sensors, the car will not know what to do.

The long tubes make a huge difference. The throttle response is incredible.

It all depends on what you are looking for ?

Are you looking for a nice gain in hp ?

just take it to a redneck garage bro.. they dont care about cats lol they shoot em HA! but ya do you already have a catback or somthing or you having them run a whole system? I just bought a sweet lil y pipe back exhaust system completly polished thats kinda a slp knockoff but i actually like the tone better then slp but i got it all for 430 bucks shipped and its all polished and comes with everything and is slip fit so you can weld it yourself or if you dont know how just U clamp it togather! there ebay name is merchantsellers so just type that in and they make polished maro exhaust and they sound great!!
