Default Long tubes/ backpreasue

Ok here guys i been reading about LOng Tubes.....

This summer Im planning on buying a pair of them with a cutout for them. I love the sound of open headers and am wondering if i just run my engine with the L.Ts and a cutout will my car not have enough backpressure and run like crap? If I could get a better understanding of how it all works seeing that im new to the whole open headers thing it work be great.

thanks in advance =]

i hav mid length headers and its faster at the track wit the cut out off but if u dont hav enough induction mods then it might run worse

long tubes let your car idle and breathe better, back pressure is just a myth, why do you think dragsters run just headers

Don't worry about "back pressure" you could run the car open port and it would be fine...all the electronics around it would be pissed, but it would run until you melted wires and such. Anyway, a long tube header is made to help get your low end torque while making high end power. It has to do with the fact that the longer primary tubes will resonate at a lower frequency, but that's all physics stuff and is more information than most people car to read. Long story short, don't worry about "back pressure" with long tubes.

Make sure you are carefull about making sure the wires for the spark plugs are protected from the heat they produce.
