Default lessoned to be learned about opi spark

it all stared almost a month ago my car was running great and i decided to do a tune-up on Bosch platinum plugs accel wires and a msd coil did all that turned the key and no fire after scratching my head i took a plug wire off and found out there was no spark coming from the distributer ok so i go buy a dist from Bennett put it on and it runs but not good so i leave it alone buy pace setters long tube headers and a k&n cold air intake put it all on then start going thru everything come to find out it was a defective dist so now i have a msd dist and my car running like a champ

did you locktight the screws on the rotor? that is a good idea on the msd opti.

dont tell me u need to do that on the msd because i didnt

ummm,,, ok i take that back. lol. keep it in mind next time you take it apart. just gota take the water pump off to get the cap off. oh and did you replace the water pump? good idea to do that to. dont want to have a pump go out and leak all over a new opti and ruin it. have read of that happening on here several times.

it's a good idea to do on all of them including GM. Nothing like having junior make it about 10 miles down the road and have the rotor grenade inside your brand new opti.

We're thinking about doing a long term study on whether or not it makes the units last longer to be honest. We're up in the air about it.

yours are $85??? wow thats a competive price! are they remaned gm units??

No, they are new aftermarket units. Only AC Delco sells GM units in any capacity. Delphi are now aftermarket units.

Sorry for the late reply. Its possible they are identical units. I haven't torn into one yet. There are some rumors the Delphis are made in my factory now. But I have yet to confirm.

Quality by MSD, my unit and Delphi are consistent. AC Delco units being better than the previously mentioned units. Anything else is a complete crapshoot and not likely to be supported by the vendor selling them at all.
