K&N Air Intake Assembly

its a part of the car that is under the filter. u will see what they are talking about when u take it apart. i would leave it on if i were u. it really is not going to make much of a difference to take it off. the high flow filter is known for letting dust threw into the motor in off road venues so i would say taking that piece off will increase the chances of that happening. also allows other stuff to get in there like water from the freeway and such. i am using the moroso and have used the k and n and like the moroso just a tad more, doesnt move like the k and n, but that could be the aluminum elbow i am using now.

Trick Flow makes one very similar to k&n and is cheaper

Search around on ebay, you can usually find them used for a decent price. Then all you have to buy is a new filter (or better yet, learn how to clean the filter and you're good to go). I have the Moroso and I like it although I've never had any experience with the K&N so I can't say between the two. You really can't go wrong with either one, so I would go for the one you can find the cheapest...
