its a part of the car that is under the filter. u will see what they are talking about when u take it apart. i would leave it on if i were u. it really is not going to make much of a difference to take it off. the high flow filter is known for letting dust threw into the motor in off road venues so i would say taking that piece off will increase the chances of that happening. also allows other stuff to get in there like water from the freeway and such. i am using the moroso and have used the k and n and like the moroso just a tad more, doesnt move like the k and n, but that could be the aluminum elbow i am using now.

Look straight down from your air box would be and you will see it. Also can see it if you look under your car just past the driver side wheel well

So essentially I can't go wrong with either the K&N or the Moroso CAI it sounds like. Thanks for the help guys.

i have moroso and i like it alot more than k&n.

the way it fits in the car snug and doesnt move around.
it is also easy to remove.

Search around on ebay, you can usually find them used for a decent price. Then all you have to buy is a new filter (or better yet, learn how to clean the filter and you're good to go). I have the Moroso and I like it although I've never had any experience with the K&N so I can't say between the two. You really can't go wrong with either one, so I would go for the one you can find the cheapest...
