Default IGNITION CONTROL MODULE

ok well if some of you follow my threads about my 80 mph missfire you would know my story. but basically my car misses when at high RPM's now a while back i removed my coil and ICM and i cleaned them. apparantly that white **** is the heatsink conduction stuff (like the same kinda **** used on heatsinks for CPU's in a computer) well i scratched all that off thinkin it was some junk. so my question is. when i first get on the highway i can do 80 with no missfire. and then it comes and i gotta slow down and stay slowed down for a while then i can speed back up do 80 and not have a miss. but what my theory is is that the icm is getting too hot when its at higher rpm so it misses and since when i get on the freeway im not at a high rpm so its cooler but then as i go faster it has to work harder and gets too hot and doesnt work right. so i guess my question is could my ICM be bad because it gets too hot because im a retard and scratched all that stuff off and thats why my car misses. because if i do a 1/4 mile or even half a mile i cruise well over 120 mph and then let off down to idk 55 or so and my light didnt come on and the car didnt miss. so does this sound right. my ICM gets too hot, cant do its job correctly cause its too hot so it screws up the spark and my engine missifires.

That was a silly thing to do, but you can put it back. Go to Radio Shack & pick up a tube of dielectric grease. Get the white stuff, not the clear silicone grease which is not a good heat conductor. Do not use it on connectors!

ok i cleaned it all off again and then i put on some grease where it should have been. i also added washers to make the braket stick out away from the head more to make it cool better. i went and test drive my car and now the engine light says like bank 1 lean and cylinder 3 missfire. so 2morrow im gonna check the plug and wire and the connector on the opti. but if that is all good maybe it the fuel injector on cylinder 3? oh and btw after i did that i also took a compressed air hose and blew it into the fresh air vent on the opti. then drove the car and it was at 2950-2975 at 80 mph. so idk maybe its fixed?
