idles fine but wont go. fuel trouble? backfires...
i have a 94T/A and one day i was at a light and when i hit the gas it just bogged out. it idles fine but anytime i touch the clutch it backfires and blows out black smoke(fuel). By manipulating the clutch i got it to the gas station. i thought it might be just real short on fuel. i filled up half a tank and the problem didnt change. i then checked the fuses and the air pump fuse was blown. i replaced it and still no change. the next week i drove it from the gas station to work at about 1 mile an hour using the clutch. i then bought my own scanner since no stores sem to have one for my car. when i scanned it it said three codes: 1. MAF low voltage, 2. left bank O2 sensor (lean condition indicated), 3. something about the egr but i dont remember. these should all just make it run rough but not immobilize it. i went ahead and replaced the mass air becase it looked pretty rough anyways. no change. ive also put in a new fuel pump and filter with no change. now im just lost and in desperate need of help. ive been without her for a month now.

I had the same thing go wrong with mine does your car have the eletric smog pump? I had alot of problems with my car ant it came down to getting a new computer that took like a month to get. so what i did is unpluged the smog pump and took out my cat. also check your EGR.

well my car had similar problems i had one of the screws that mounts the metal piece of the rotor break and it would idle fine but when i put it under load it would misfire, leave smoke, and my rpm would jump from the rotor arking, but it pulled a 16 code if i remeber right but i know for sure it said low distribution voltage, so like they said check your codes and go from there. no point just switching our parts, its way to spendy

well i did run the codes first. its in the first post. i had three. fixed them all. the rotor sounds very possible though, and ive definately discussed it with a few people. i just dont want to **** with that damn opti again.
