i just inherited a 94 camaro with a 3.4L auto. it idles very rough and shakes when idling, but when i give it gas it no longer shakes. i've checked all the vacuum lines, the spark plug wires, plugs and injectors have all been replaced. i cannot figure out what is wrong with it. please help me if possible

 

Could be the ignition module or a bad coil. Is the SES lite lit? Revving up an engine will tend to mask a misfire unless it is under heavy load.

 

yes the SES lite is lit. sometimes it is hard to turn over unless i give it gas. how could i check the ignition module or coil to see if thats the problem?

 

The SES lite is lit for a reason. You need to get the car scanned and see what the computer is complaining about. It will save you a lot of time and money by giving you a starting point on how to go about fixing the problem.

 

If the car was recently worked on and somebody was using a Chilton's book, the rocker arms could be too tight. My car was doing the same thing and that was the problem.
