how much boost?
Im thinking about running the sts turbo on my 95 z28. just wondering how much boost I could run with out blowing the motor. bout to finish swapping my cam with a comp 467 xfi. could I even run the turbo with that cam? ive got p&p head and intake. Im looking for some good but affordable longtube headers. thnks

with some good rod bolts and head studs and some performance head gaskets you could run 10psi easy on a sts set up, and ive found that mild to wild cams work for turbos whats the power band supposed to be on the cam mid to high or low to mid?eitherway it will mean even less lag for the set up and more all around better power.Since youve already got a p&p that means the cam can breath also and you will get the best pefromance out of the set up.

boost is safe its all in the tune if the engine last long or not eventually everything will go at some point and time, but a well tuned car will out last a crapy tuned car hands down.I'm not to sure at what power that could be produced but id say it wouldnt be slowy by any means. And id also say you would have to run bigger injectors aswell that is a must for boost more air requires more fuel. The cam sounds perfect for the set up aswell.

I've seen a few ls1's run the sts on low boost such has 6-8psi and the run real real good sts says that there is hardly any lag what so ever from there set ups.But idk what price range there in id say anywhere from 2-5k.
