Default how do u tune these things?

my buddy with the lt4 wants his car tuned. it leans out pretty bad up top, and has some idle issues, probably due to the lt4 hotcam. he has a hypertech power programmer plus handheld. are there places that will give mail order tunes if u send them the programmer? my HPT wont do lt1.... not sure why but apparently the good people at HPT wanted to give u guys a big ethereal finger or something. so how do u guys tune the lt1 when u have more mods?

with pcmforless, the 175 for an lt1 computer, is that with their comprehensive tune? if so thats a good freakin deal, especially with the 125 money back for the core refund

I know he's probably already ordered it, but here is another way, similar to the HPTuners.

Yea $175 for the tune and you get your $125 back when you return the core. Best deal I could find!! I'm not sure if PCMforless has and hand held tuners. Spec! I'm shocked you'er letting your best friend in the whole wide world use a Hypertec!! From what I understand........thems don wark!!

he had the car before i even got into Fbodies. and i dont know lt1s past the basics. i told him to junk that thing tho, because apparently they dont even let you adjust trims or timing by %..... i guess its just a series of questions "supercharger or no?" "high octane or no?'..... [&:] even my diablo gave me a range by which to tune.

Yeah the LT1's are quickly becoming the step child of the fourth gens! Most shops here will have the equipment to work on Ls engines but no longer have the stuff to work on the LT1's.You have to find a shop that does and these places are few and far between. His best bet would be to send out the pcm or find a place that works on the LT1. That means a performance shop!! That what it usually means in my case. Good luck!!

You can always buy a copy of LT1 edit, and with the help of a laptop mess with the PCM as much as you want. However; it is a pretty long learning curve. So if you are in a hurry, call PCM for less, tell them exactly how your engine is built, and they will ship you a properly tuned PCM. They don't deal inhand helds as far as I know.
