How can I remove old gas from gastank 94 Z28 ?
Hi, everyone ! Sorry i haven't checked in lately but I've benn working every spare minute putting the Z28 back together with the rebuilt engine. Almost ready to crank it up, but the gas in the tank is about 1 1/2 yrs old and i need to get it out, just looking for some suggestions. I haven't tried to siphon yet, didn't think a hose would go down the fill tube. Thought about trying to jump the fuel pump but I've never done that before.
Any Ideas ?

Put one hose into the tank and into a bucket. Put an airhose in the opening, Put a wet rag around everything and try to seal it off. Pressurize the tank, the gas will exit via the hose into the bucket.
Never done this with a gas tank before, but I have pulled Diesel Fuel from a 55 gallon drum into a machine like this. Should work. Or just drop the tank.

pop off the quick disconnect from the fuel rail... put the two lines in a hose to a bucket and either cycle the pump for 8 hrs or so (lol)...or jump the fuel pump relay. I would just get out what i could, top it off with 93 (the best solution for pollution is dilution) and call it a day.

Got it out !!
Hi everyone and thanks,
I bought a manual pump with a 1/2 in hose that could almost reach
the bottom that we were able to get most of it out with. Next I took the fuel lines that connect to the fuel rail, put them in a 5 gal can a tried to get the rest out but it wouldn't run more than 3 seconds. I didn't want to take a chance jumping the relay ( although that will work too ). So I poured 5 gal 93 oct gas in the tank, shook the car some and continued turning the key on/off another 15 times or so to drain some of the old gas out of the lines. Hooked it back to the fuel rail, key on/off 5 more times to prime the fuel rail, it was empty, plugged in the ICM, and she fired up on the 2nd crank for the first time since the rebuild.

Engine Running !!
Yes ! I hope to be on the road soon ! We have been RAIN Delayed alot in the past few wks and almost nonstop for two days. I can't get a good look at it in the rain. I still need to get the rotors de-rusted before Thurs because I have an appiontment to get a new windshield on Friday. Need to scann and go over the engine with a stethascope because i hear a high pitch tiny tinging out the exhaust but not in front under the hood, i think it may be the tube that was welded in place of the cat, not sure yet. I will post some pics this weekend.
