Still have the strong stutter and hesitation while driving, like shaking the car apart. Could the tran or clutch be causing these problems?

do a compression test. could be missing a cylinder or a plug wire is crossed. tripple check to make sure the plug wires are in the right spot.

data master should let you know if there are any stored codes and at least give you some numbers on the sensors so if one is outa wack you can see it.

I'm just waiting on my aldl cable. The wires are correct. On start up it wants to idle down to normal range but as soon as it gets there it starts sputtering, fluctuates between 600-900rpm's then it revs up to 1800-2000rpm's and stays in that range. I'll have to get my hands on a pressure gauge.

Autozone rents them for free. Actually you buy it and they refund ALL your money on return.

Still haven't done the compression check but plan on it, just thought I would ask for other possibilities. Would a bad knock sensor or module cause the car to act up like I've been describing? I read how you could hear the "knock" from detonation with a bad sensor but I don't have that, it also said it could cause the stuttering and shaking during acceleration which is what mine is doing. So I'm going to look into that as well. And no, there is NO SES LIGHT. Hasn't been through this entire ordeal.

Your ses light may be disconnected or missing. Don't count on the light to be lit.
The knock sensor tells the computer to dial back timing. The knock module is replaceable for different configurations and is in the ECM. For a LT4 or those of us running a roller rockers we use a LT4 knock module because it is tuned for the noisier roller rockers. I don't believe it will make a car stutter, or miss, but only pull timing and make it run sluggish.

Yea I understand it now, I only asked because when looking things up on the sensor a few articles I read mentioned it could possibly lead to an actual shaking of the vehicle when it retards timing enough, but others on forums have assured me it wouldn't do that and be like you said only a sluggish hesitation at times.

Still waiting on a cable since I'm a broke @$$ a member on a forum is gracious enough to loan me his but like I said I'm still waiting on it. This whole time I've been trying to get around the replacement of the opti, but it looks like that would be the main cause of my problems now. To this point I've fixed all vacuum leaks, intake gaskets, numerous faulty sensors and leaky hoses. Now it seems inevitable that I'll have to fork out the cash for a new opti but the cable will still be valuable as I'm sure my engine needs some fine tuning and checking.

Has anybody ever changed their fuel pump for these problems, to see if that works?
