yah all the info has to go through the prom and the tune chip is between the prom and the computer. not sure but i think all the important stuff is in the prom as far as what to do with the info and the computer gives direction to the systems. sorta how i think it works. lol.

sorry if i fudged u up. i thought u were in a emissions state or area. im not in the city so i could have it tuned out but am trying to keep it so if i do run into a check station i can at least say i tried. lol. at least during my travels. i also figure sometime not so far away its going to be required on all cars that had the sytems. i dont think the egr and air are very effective.

Thats what worries me. My state has no emissions. Hell, I can "buy" my sticker. I could get a sticker on a lawnmower. But, eventually that will all come to an end. Then, I will have to change all my vehicles.

the air pump, egr and cat s are all part of the emissions sytem. if u dont have em i think u would fail. look into the laws for az and see what it says.

jjz28, my egr valve went out, thats why i had the system turned off and when i get headers it will just come out, when the valve went bad the car idled like sh*t and ran like dog sh*t, if you rip it out and the comp still thinks its there i think yours will run the same, like crabby mentioned pcmforless, they can tune(or chip, the same i guess) your ecu so the egr and air pump is out
