i just got off the phone with slp, they no longer make their shorty headers for 97 camaro slp cars. any idea which shorty headers are the best fit and the best performance with the totl exhaust system.

is there any reason you want to go with shorty's? emissions or what?

 

sorry about that, i thought this section was all slp and special camaro's? my bad... where do i go for slp cars, and info on these cars specificly?

I had always heard the SLP headers made for 96-97 cars were not worth the time and effort. When I did mine I bought the headers for the single cat cars and converted mine. I noticed a good improvement in performance and sound. I debated on getting long tubes. I didn't feel they were needed for my application. I have had the headers on for ten years and they are holding up just fine. If you are dead set on keeping the dual cat style, I see them on ebay from time to time.

 

Do a search for SLP headers, there are several online shops that sell them. You might come across a set of shorties.
