headers

I am just gettin into the car scene and i have a 89 rs and bought to buy a 94 z28 lt1 and my question is What is the best headers to buy i was lookin for hookers but i also wanna know if i should get long or short headers

this is for the 94 or the 89? since its in 4th gen im going to assume the 94. for the LT1 most people here will steer u toward dynatech, they are "tuned" which means the pipes have a set length to max performance. as for LT or shorty, i would say LT's unless you have a real good reason not to. LT's dont fit any worse than shorties do, and they make more power and torque, especially at lower RPM. the only real reason not to is if your emissions testing is really strict, because LT's usually make your car throw a code.

Thanks for that i think i am going to go with the long then still not sure on brand but i will look up the ones you talked bout

I recommend first Kooks and Dynatech comes in for a close second. After that Hooker and the other "generic" brands. Stainless Works also makes custom headers for the LT1, but I cannot attest to their fit and overall quality, and they're more expensive the Kooks.

yeah a good set of headers will cost you a **** and a nut.....very expensive but very worth it
