I recently bought a 94Z . I was told that it had GM performace parts heads on it. Not the stock heads. I can tell it has a cam, K&N cold air, pace setter lt headers flowmasters and an lt4 intake. How could I dertermine if these heads are wat I was told. I am currently putting in a 4:10 gear and a full MSD set up. Opti, coil, plugs, wires an 6AL. I know that I can pull of the valve cover and get the casting numbers but I don't where I can run to see what I'm working with. Also with these mods would injectors, MAF and throttle body upgrades be a good idea? I almost forgot. Which side would I look at to get the casting numbers. Driver, passenger or would it be stamped on both. Thank ya'll for your time!

 

well if u got the lt4 intake u should have the lt4 heads. the casting # is on both heads. on the lt1 there the little #s front on drivers side towards the back on passanger side. if no one comes back for you check with your local dealership ask them if theres a easy way to tell the hp heads from stock.

 

i was unaware GM had a "high performance lt1 head"...if you have an lt4 intake, then craby is correct and you MUST HAVE lt4 heads to work with it. before you do much else, you should probably find the specs of that cam...my guess is its the hotcam but you would want the specs of it anyway to know for sure so we know more of what we're dealing with

 

yah i remember they tried to talk me into the lt4 head hot cam upgrade at the dealer when i had my first car.

Yes but first do what the whammer advised. You're going to need to know what cam and heads (if they are LT4 heads) and that will determine what injectors you will need. You can add what you think will work but more than likely you will be off and you'll not get the full potential of the heads, cam package.

 

Okay I found out they are and lt4 head last night. What injector, throttle body combo should I go with.

 

throttle body probably won't do you much to be honest. you probably aren't needing injectors at this point, but 30# injectors would be enough for your setup
