Default It has been a long time...

Last time I was on here was almost a year ago with my 3.4L 95...

Anyway, I am getting this today

http://ventura.craigslist.org/cto/2198502741.html

It will be my first time in a z28 AND my first manual transmission car...

Any ideas on what to expect? What should I be looking for when I pick it up?

It feels good to be a future member of the Z club!!

Bowties forever!!!

I got the Camaro. Its a 95 Z/28 M6 Vert. Silver. Black leather interior, black ragtop (don't have a camera at the moment, so pictures will come soon). I swear it looks like it just came off of the showroom floor. Even had the window sticker and everything. It was owned by some old guy who just wanted to get rid of it. I paid $3000 for it.
Going from a 95 3.4 coupe to this is, well.... Magical. In between me selling my sixxer due to girl problems (never again!!) Ive had Fords.... God I hate fords..... Anyway, this car is more than I could dream for. Miles are a little high (190,xxx), but it starts right up and drives like a dream.

And for anyone newbies who ask this question, I tell you. As a newbie. GET THE 6 SPEED!!!! DO IT!!!! Don't think, just do! This is my first standard car, and I was really apprehensive..... Oh GAWD!!! The fun of rowing through the gears!!! And traffic really isnt that bad at all.... So get the M6!!!

I will post soem pictures as soon as I get a camera, but in the meantime, I will be enjoying my ride, and "eating rice and pooping fords!!!!!"

I love this forum, and that's why I came back. Thanks to all who gave me help in the past (craby) and LONG LIVE F- BODIES!!!!

P.S. If anyone is in the Santa Barbara area (CA Central Coast), PM me and we can cruise or something. Cool

Amen to that. I just unloaded a 98 Mustang GT so that I could buy my 96 Z28. What a world of difference in so many ways. Performance, appearance, interior space, etc... Fords are junk. My first car was a 1985 Tempo, and I wrecked it at 22k miles because the tie rod end was defective and I lost all steering going downhill. Prior to that, the radiator and transmission went bad. My dad swore off Fords at that point.

I traded a 2000 Camry for the 98 Mustang... Stupid. I figured that experience with the 85 Tempo was long enough in the past, and that Ford had most certainly got itself together since that point. Wrong, what a piece of junk!! I will never, ever own a Ford again! Fix Or Repair Daily.... whoever came up with that is not kidding! Loving my Camaro so far, no love lost for that Mustang.....

Pictures are coming soon. I do have a question though. I have 193k on the odo, and I am going to be getting the Lloyd Elliott 1LE H/C package. Should I rebuild the bottom end (if I do, it will be forged) or will it be ok? and will the 10 bolt hold 400 HP through the T-56? Thanks.

Talking Photo time!!!!

I fainally went home and took some pictures of my Z with my dad's camera. Sorry, it was night time, but I got some decent pics given the conditions. Also, I know my car is dirty... I'm getting it detailed next week. Inside and out. Anyway, without further ado, I present "The Silver Bullet": (56k users beware!!!)

So that's it for now. I love her. Already has her at 140...

I know that's bad, but oh well...

And if anyone has an answer to the question im the previous post, that would be fantastic! Thank you all so much, and more Z pics to come.

first thing I'd do (other than dump the salad shooters and not drive 140mph on the street) is put a shorter bolt on the alternator. Dang that bolt comes perilously close to the upper radiator hose.

Please tell me you don't live in FL. I don't need a kid going 140 mph on the street as my own 3 children are going about their day.
