Default ground strap location

Where does the ground strap on the front left of the motor go I had it bolted to the front of the head but noticed today when I was jumping the car that that strap was smoking

the braided one on the driver side goes to the block. its to ground the frame. that wire should not be carrying the amount of amps to make it smoke. i would say the main ground under the motor mount is failing unless you grounded the jumper to the frame.

main ground on the passenger side from the battery??? i ground the jumper to the ground on the strut tower and the positive to the power block there too its much easier to get to than the battery

thats why it did it. you where running a bunch of amps through that little ground strap. also running it through the junction box like that is not a good idea. should always hook positive jump wire to battery. can ground on block or i like to use the alt bracket for ground and let it charge/equalize for a few minutes then before starting turn the jump car off if using one. and yah on the lt1 the main motor ground to the battery is under the motor mount,,,, on the passenger side.
