Default governor/ speedometer

I am new to Camaro's and have a question. I recently purchased a 1994 Z28 convertible which has a LT1 motor and a 115 MPH speedometer. I read that Camaro's my year with 115 MPH speedometers have a governor which locks the car out at 108 MPH. Is this true and if so how do I remove the governor? Also I would much prefer the 155 MPH speedometer so what all is involved in changing it over? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's built into the computer. It's either a reprogrammer or chip fix, which ever Your car uses. The speedo from a '96 goes to 150 mph or at least mine does.

It all depended on what tires the car came with from the factory. If you had Z rated tires you got the 155 speedo and no govener. You can disable the govner with a tuner.

That's great guys I'll try to get the governor programmed out, but what about the speedo? I would like to change to the 155 MPH speedo. How difficult is that and what does it entail?
