anybody know what the limit is on a 96 auto z28? mine seems like it's at 115 but I'm not sure if that's the governor

 

I think that's it mine wouldn't go past 115 then I had it set up to 200

 

it depends really.if it was ordered or sold from the dealer/factory with 235 tires it has a fuel shut off at about 115-125 mph.if it came with 245 z rated tires there is no fuel shut off.that is what i read somewhere.think it was in my factory service manuals.They say it was safety related due to the tires

 

Yes, the previous post is correct. Non-speed rated tires from the Factory, the cars speed was Speed Limited (110/115 mph) by the ECM.

 

Cool, glad I got 245s on mine! So there is no other governer on these cars?

my understanding it can be programmed out of the computer.oh and ryguy,just cuz you have 245's now doesnt mean it was ordered that way.check the build codes
