Default Getting a hypertech performance tuning module

So I was thinking about getting A Hypertech performance tuning module for my 97 Z28. What do you guys think is it a good buy or should i get something different?

your better off using pcmforless. should pick up in the area of 20 hp with stock setup. more if u have boltons.

So your saying I wouldn't get 20hp from the hypertech

from what i have seen those types are more of a one size fits all kind of thing. pcm will tune to your motor and the mods on it. they will also tune to your driving conditions and habits. the good thing is u can have a redo for a time if it doesnt do what u wanted or u add more power adders.

hypertech is a paper weight in my opinion, and i have herd that from many others on the sight, if your doing performance with bolt on ect.... then dont get the hypertech

yes i do. good people to work with. dont have one in the car now because when my ecu got wet it ruined it and i figured id wait till i got the new motor going in.

So is that like a plug and play type item or is there some mechanical work invoved?

for the 93 yes, for 94 up yes and u can send your ecu back for refund or u can keep it for spare or u can also send your ecu in and have it done. go to the website and do some reading.
