Good price would cost twice that easily for the parts minus the block. Remember though, the block may need machine work for that stroker kit if it hasnt already been done. should be that much to have it done though.

Very true. wouldn't be good to pay for it and then find out it's cracked. Oh and im just curious, is this just the short block stuff or does he have heads with it too? Either way it could be a good deal, but man if you got some decent heads with it too that would be great!

go for it if everything is fine with the block and everything. You should take a look at your heads though if they are aftermarket should make a great motor.

i'd suggest you get under your hood and look and see if your heads are aftermarket. there should be a big old stamp of a company's name if they are.
i'm going to go out on a limb and say those parts aren't forged which definitely isn't the best choice if you plan to put down a lot of power, or eventually want to spray it.
one thing to keep in mind, a quality built LT1 stroker will probably run in the 4-5 grand range. just something to think about when trying to find "deals"

i wouldn't trust a cast aftermarket crank as far as i can throw it. but that's just me. seen horror stories about people using them.
why don't you give us your EXACT goals for the car. i'm thinking a stroker may be a bit of overkill for your goals
