exhaust manifolds off. where to buy blockoff plate ?
So I have the exhaust manifolds out of the car ! It took about 4 hours to remove the belt, alternator and the manifolds.
I was wondering, where do I purchase block off plates for the EGR and AIR ?
Does anyone have a picture of the exact spots...I know the spot in the back behind the passenger side pipe, but where are the other two ?
I found these plates....is this a reputable site ?

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

Yup, you cant really not make them right, they are pretty simple to make yourself. But those look fine that you found. The superman emblem goes on the rear of the intake to cover the hole created when you remove the EGR valve. Next to it the other one with two bolts goes to block the egr gas feed pipe. Then the last one with one bolt just plugs up the other side to the exhaust manifold, have a look:

PS: I would recommend putting a little high temp RTV around them so they dont leak...Im partial to the copper rtv even tho it isnt the highest rated for temp.

Thanks man for the diagram. That helps out. Right now I'm still trying to cool down after TRYING to get the plug wires off......Are you kidding me ?! That is ridiculous trying to get those things. I got them off, but some of them didn't make it out in one piece. Haha....That's ok though, I have brand new ones going in.
And thanks nj85z28 for the site, I'm gonna order those

first, I hope you got Percy's seal 4 good gaskets and aren't using gaskets that came with the headers?
next, did you get O2 extensions ?
also, go buy a heat sleeve to put on your ABS cable on the passenger side
finally,
starter removed
alternator removed
valve covers removed
front up on jack stands
steering shaft disconnected
oil dipstrick removed(the entire thing)
block of wood under oil pan
slightly jack up engine, remove the motor mount bolt on each side, now jack the motor up about 2 inches
put the heat sleeve on the ABS cable of the passenger side.it gets very close to the header so it's worth getting a $15 sleeve as a precaution
pick a side, any side
now pay attention closely if they are pacesetters
from up TOP
place driver's side header in, it's a piece of cake. Just place it there
now go to the passenger side, push the engine over a little to the drivers side and wiggle the passenger side header in from up top
if you did the prep work I mentioned, including raising the engine, the drivers side took 1 minute to drop in the header, the passenger side 3-4 minutes to wiggle it in.
If you got headers without egr or air, they go in even easier
before attaching, put in the new plugs
then, loosely attach the headers with a bolt in the front and rear, now slide down your Percys Seal 4 Good gaskets (you did buy Percy's didn't you?) and then add more bolts and start to tighten. Run the new plug wires while the header bolts are still a wee bit loose.
tighten the bolts more
If you bought pacesetters, and are trying to put them in from below or not raisng the engine, you are wasting time.
Hey thanks for the tips everyone !
Well I was planning on using the gaskets that came with it, but I broke the gasket that came with it, and now I'm about to order the block off plates and some copper gaskets from Summit.
After reading this it makes me feel more confident in ordering the gaskets.

Yup......Percys Seal 4 Good. You live and learn. Best darn header gaskets I've ever used. They don't leak.
Sorry I didn't give a better update earlier, I was still wound up.
So here's where I am. My dad and I took the steering shaft off....pretty easy once I figured out how to take the sleeve off the joint ! Hardest part. haha. After that, the header came in from the bottom easily. Then we started to fit it up. That's when I broke the gasket....
Glad it happened though because I have the copper gaskets on the way !
The headers are not Pacesetters. Here is the link to them, they are LPP

So next...Before I did all that stuff I took the plate off on the back of the motor. Easy to get off. I am not sure where the other two plates are though. Pictures REALLY help out.
Also, can I just remove the air pump ? And all the hoses attached to it ?
