Default Exhaust for 96 Z28

Well Im looking into a bone stock z28 and of course want to give it the rumble. I keep looking at sound clips and they keep saying mufflers
I mean is that all i have to do to give it the rumble or do i have to go from Cat back to get that deep sound. Looking into flowmasters because love the tone on them. XD

input would be high appreciated and sharing what you have in your Z could maybe help me

at the moment i have the 'rumble' but all i did was cut out the rear muffler and weld some pipe in and remove the tips and put 2 cherry bomb style straight through mufflers on (they are short) as the helps deepen the sound, sounds awesome for a £100 job

alot of the guys like the borla and the magna flow. borla has the adjustalbe plate to get more or less sound.

Yeah but the magnaflow doesn't seem to have that real low rumble
but when you open it up you will know it lol but same with the Flowmaster just it has that low quaking that I like Just need to know what route ima go because i keep seeing 80 series on youtube and look for them online and they say its only a muffler dont want to get only the muffler and then it not be what i want

Default 96 z28 exhaust

I have edelbrock headers and y pipe going into 3 inch no cat into o flowmaster muffler with factory stlye tips.It sounds awesome..To get full performance and sound you have to invest in full exhaust then your ride will scream. It makes a huge power difference also. The factory headers rob alot of power..

i've heard(don't have personal experience) that the flowmaster exhaust resonates a lot inside the cab. if that's something you're okay with, then go for it. i have personally always loved the sound of the magnaflow exhaust.

as far as exhaust, its all about personal preference. your best bet would be to get a y-pipe as well because the stock one is probably the most restrictive part of the exhaust system and then get a quality catback such as borla, corsa, magnaflow or whatever other one you would want

^^bad advice and a bad idea. you're drilling holes into metal which leads to rusting. so i guess you're right, you won't need exhaust when it all rusts off
