Default Error code 41

Just had an error code 41 pop up on my 1994 Firebird engine. Engine would start just fine and after about 5 seconds it just quits. I noticed that when it quits all the gauges drop to off as if I were losing power (just like turning off the key). I suspect the key switch is the problem. It's an aftermarket market knock off GM switch like fond in older GM dash mounted switches. Question is: why run for a short time and then just shut off? It did clear itself after about 5 starts but don't trust it now. Thoughts?

still getting 41 code? sounds like may betwo issues. test ignition wires for volts if you can get it to fail again.

41 Camshaft sensor – Circuit fault or ignition control – circuit fault/error

Problem has gone away and I don't know why! As far as I could tell it was electrical, but can't get it to happen again. Doesn't give me much confidence to set out on a road trip. Where I live leaving town involves lots of desert with NOTHING.
