Handheld tuners are a $300 paperweight, don't waste your money. You can look into a program called LT1Edit. It will allow you to change just about anything in your computer, that said, you can really mess up your car if you don't know what you're doing. I would recommend either a local shop that has experience in tuning late model chevy motors on a dyno, or you can contact www.PCMforLess.com and they should be able to do a mail order tune for you.

if you dont want to get a handheld unit, which i wouldnt. get it dyno tuned, i got mine done with some simple mods and it made a huge difference, that is if you have the resources and the shop with a dyno that can do it for you

LT1 edit ! Yes ! go to carputing llc all the info is right there. You will need a wideband and the free pcm communicator that is on there has a knock count on it that reads in real time. Autometer just came out with wideband o2 sensors I bought one and love it. it has a digital display and analogue display so u can follow what is going on easier. Also uses a bosch o2 sensor so its easy to replace. You will need to install the sensor at the top of the y pipe between 11-2 to keep the condensation level lowest. Then get the cables from andrew, the whole setup will be on the less than 600 dollars for everything (wieband, Lt1 edit, cables, and ething)but then you can change anything and everything that is in the pcm. Best value. It is difficult to learn how to begin and the info isnt really out there for how to setup say the BLM or the volumetric pressure..but I have done all the homeowork for the program and consider myself a master with the software. Just hit me up with the questions that you have and i can help. Ken will set up the program, you will need a google account to recieve the final part of the program, I suggest buying the cables first: http://www.akmcables.com/, run the communicator, use the pcm reader to download the contents of stock pcm and send it out to ken kelly they will hook u up, the turnaround time is like hours instead of days. You can get started very quickly. Check it out: http://carputing.tripod.com/9495LT1Edit.htm

If you're handy with a soldering iron check out

http://www.14point7.com/Widebands/JA.../JAW_1_041.htm

$125 for a complete wideband controller kit, with software, sensor and display. I just got mine in the mail today.
