well i'm not having any problems with the engine transmission or running issues.

the problem is the engine doesnt really have much power and it seems like ecm problems.
also the check engine light thing and the electric fan thing.

gorn - so you would recommend finding a 97 z28 and taking everything from behind the dash and the ecm and wiring harness?

a previous post said that even if i had the 97 ecm the engine would have different sensors and also doesn't the 93 corvette have a different cam and heads?

gorn - do you know if there would be a way to program a 97 ecm to the specs need for the 93 vette motor. that way the 97 ecm would match the 97 body control module behind the dash but the ecm would match the sensors and motor? would that work?

A 97 computer can be programmed with HP tune. but the hardware needs to match up. I think most of the sesor off the 93 would work but there could be a few exception. Thats why have the whole 97 would fix just about everything. I pretty sure the all the 97 sensors and stuff would bolton to the 93 engine.

Whats the deal with the guys who installed the motor? Is taking the car back to them to have it fixed not an option?
btw I agree with Gorn, you are gonna need to find another donor... also, check out painless wiring for some stuff. perhaps you can get an entire harness from them and an ecu off ebay. Either way if what you have isn't working it needs to go.

already been involved in a law suit against them and lost cuz the judge knew the guy who owned the shop. they basically did all this stuff without asking me and said screw u here's ur car. now i'm stuck with this situation and just want my car to run like a vette engine should.

well everything works kinda... just doesnt have the power and it has issues with the check engine light and electric fans. other than that any issues i have daily seem to be ecm related like timing issues fuel air mixture sometimes u can smell gas like its running rich etc things like that

sell it. to the shops kid. looks like if u want it to run right your going to have to find a 97 thats wrecked with a blown motor. keep track of your costs just in case u want to go back at the sob. have u thought of appeal to a higher court. check out the stuff fast has, just for info if nothing else.

To use the 97 PCM you will need a 97 front cover. The 97 uses a crank position sensor so it can detect misfires and comply with OBDII, the older engine do not.

so the timing cover is different to. i was wondering about that. definatly need a blown 97 motor and crashed car. so pete do u know if a 94 setup will work in the 97 or are there to much differences.
