In the past two daysI have 3 failed attempts when I go to turn the ignition on. I go to start my car and nothing happens.I turn the key back into the off position, give it a few seconds, try again and it works. Im at a lost as to what the problem could be and how to go about fixing this. Any help on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

PS: for the last month or so my stereo has also been giving me some problemslike turning the car onand havingthe head display not come on.

 

is your car a manual and does it have the security key? i had similar problems but i had the security thing in the ignition bypassed and it turned out to be my clutch switch wasn't working well

 

check the connection to the starter sometimes they come loose

 

check your ignition relay it may be going bad.

 

Does the security light come on when you try to start the engine?
