Default Electric water pump info

I'm looking at moving to an electric water pump. I'm looking at a buying a Moroso pump. problem is i don't know if it will fit. They are all listed as being for SB, BB Chevy and then a SB-Chevy with 5-1/4" height w/ offset housing.

Here is a link with in jegs to what i am referring to. JEGS

If some one would be kind enough to point me in the direction of what one I need to buy and a little info as to why (IE: The Lt-1 is a small block or Big Block so always follow the SB or BB abr.) that would be greatly appreciated as I am just learning the ropes on an LT1. I know it is a 350 in essence but..... (shrug) I'm new, so the over all difference between them is unknown to me.

Thanx again for any help

Default RE: Electric water pump info

You need a special pump for the LT1. This set up retains the body of the LT1 pump, but the stock drive shaft is removed, the front cover of the pump is replaced with an electric motor that drives the impeller.

The LT1 is a small block, but is quite different from the usual 350 small block, and many things made for the small block will not work with it. The main differnces are heads, intake, water pump drive, distributor location, cooling system (LT1 uses reverse flow).
