electric water pump

Default electric water pump

has anyone used a electric water pump or have any experience with them ? i have heard that they dont leak but there life expectancy is low. does it completely replace the mechanical water pump ?

and then some ... you'll have to do alot of bracket mods to run your alternator and power steering without the stock water pump. unless your doing it for race purposes ... better stick with the stock water pump. Sick

Your engine is pretty simple.
1 Remove the water pump, it will be reused so don't mangle it.
2 Remove water pump drive shaft from timing chain cover
3 Plug hole in chain cover with plug provided with electric pump motor
4 Remove front cover from existing water pump and attach electric motor in its place, Motor will engage existing impeller
5 Put water pump back & wire it up
6 Make sure to follow instructions included with kit.

Keep the optispark DRY !!!
Keep a spare pump motor handy, they do die a lot. That is why the factory does not use them.
