egr flow code
so got an SES light,, came up as a egr flow code,,, 0400,,i think,, can i drive with this code? or is it one i should fix asap,,,i know how to fix it,,carb cleaner,,check vaccum ect, but i cant find if it can actually hurt the car.. thankyou

It won't hurt the engine, but the N0x emission will be high, and the fuel mileage will be a little lower. Lack of EGR flow at part throttle increases combustion temperature. This will increase the tendency to ping, and the PCM will decrease spark advance at part throttle to prevent it.
