Default droping oil pressure

ok, well this is the 2nd time i noticed it and it kinda worrys me now. i hit the gas alittle, going to maybe 4k and then i let off and started slowing down to turn. and i noticed my oil guage just drops to 0. iv checked and re checked my oil levels and its all good, and under normal driveing its all fine. and last time it did it i swear my power stearing went out for a sec also. i might just be paranoid though. any info on this would be appreciated.

I bought a 95 z28 that was having the same prob...kinda. at slow down the pressure would drop, and at high RPMS (8000) it would drop...

I bought it and when I pulled the oil pan off ,the pick up was off, it had come out of the oil pump completely.

So I fixed with a new oil pump and I have no problems at all, from idle to 8500, strong pressure.
Just an Idea.

I would run a engine flush on it and change filter and oil and see how it does.
I also put an aftermarket oil pressure gauge.
I bought a geo storm once, and owner said it would drop oil pressure at anytime. I got it home and the wire to the sending unit was broke....but you couldnt tell by looking at it. i wiggled the wire and saw the pressure go back up. Drove it for over a yr before selling it.

had the same problem every time had to brake harder then normal or if i took a turn over 5mph the gage would drop to 0 for a sec or two. turned out to be the oil pump pick up fell off. if you bang on the bottom of the oil pan you should be able to here it rattle around in there or atleast i did even when full. i drove like that for about a month with no problems but i did take it real ez on her. i also added 1/2 quart more oil then i should of. did not correct the issue but did make happen less.

not real easy to drop the oil pan, gota take the motor mounts lose (one long bolts each side), starter comes off, oil dip stick housing, flywheel cover, im sure theres more just cant remember. then you have to raise the front of the motor as far as you can, i also droped the back of the trans a tad. then to get the pan out you have to rotate the motor to line up the crank so the pan can clear em to get it out.
