Default do the lt1 motors run better in the winter.

Just curious if it is worse to race when say it is 40 degrees out or so, or if it really is not that hard on ur engine.

they run pretty mean in the winter, ive started mine up a few times and because the heads are aluminum it helps keep detonation down while driving at fast speeds, and seems to overall run faster and slightly louder, the MAF and the IAT pick up on the cold air thus helping the air/fuel mixture, thats why it says in the engine bay, these cars are exempt from cold weather testing all together.

All engines make more power in cold weather, if no other reason that the air is denser and drier in cold weather. The LT1 really likes the cold baecause the aluminum intake manifold has a lesser chance of getting heat soaked and heat up the incoming air. Drag racers like to put a big bag of ice over the inake maninifold to cool it down between runs.
