I'm wondering why my car is running really rich after the hot cam install..Would a dyno tune really solve my problem or do i need a new computer chip? I think its causing me to loose some HP. I was hoping for more results in that area when i did this.[&:]

 

Yes, you really need to get it tuned. No one can assure you it will solve everyting, but a good tune will be the first step. You may need to do more, but . . .

 

Put a hot cam on my 94 and it ran perfectly without additional computer tuning. I am sure it would make more power with a tune, but it is pretty close to where it should be.

 

you should tune your car after every major mod you do. because you put headers on you should do it and now especially cause you did the cam i would suggest either a power programmer 3 or send your pcm in to be edited and tell them exactly what your mods are if you have your pcm sent in for programming. I would also suggest a msd 6al ignition and a new coil to burn more of the extra fuel, after all this you will see much higher responce to mods and atleast 5mpg better fuel economy.
