Default dies while driving

alright guys have an issue here with my daily driver just hoping anybody can help me get it back on the road...well i have a green 94 z28 automatic and my issue is that when i'm driving it for a little while it suddenly dies on me and no lights come on the dash but if i pop it in neutral and try to start it the lights come on and the engine turns over but doesn't start...most of the time i have to wait up to 30 mins to an hour for it to start back up then it runs like a champ...sometimes i have to turn the key to the on position then off and do that a couple times then it starts right up...i've changed the opti a couple months ago and changed sparks plugs and wires and a streetfire coil...not much performance parts other then magnaflow high flow cat and flowmaster muffler...i have tried changing the ignition module a couple times and the same happens, i ripped apart the wire harness and checked all the wires and there is nothing wrong with them...i tried a different computer but still the same problem...my feul pump sounds fine and there is no leaking lines even changed the strainer on the feul pump...i'm just wondering if this is a feul problem or what because i have good spark but don't know if i have a faulty feul pressure regulator or bad injectors...i changed the injector o-rings when i changed the intake gasket other then that nothing else has been done to it...no codes come up and the service engine light stays off...need help bad any suggestion will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance guys.

Does it wanna shut off when you get on it? If not, I wouldn't suspect a fuel problem. My thoughts point towards VATs...but your security light would be on....

Vats does not turn off a running engine. If the spark is good, check the fuel pressure with a gage, and verify that the PCM is firing the injectors. NOID lamps wil be useful.

scan for codes if anyone around can do it. check the wire harness to the opti, known to fail. i think theres a ignition breaker in one of the fuse boxes, wonder if that could be it.

sounds a lot like what my car was doing when the fuel pump went out. like pete said check fuel pressure and report back.

The radiator fan running while in diagnostic mode is normal, didn't know the air pump did too. Why is that preventing you from reading codes though?
