Cut out?

Default Cut out?

Ill admit i still have a lot to learn, but i was just wondering what exactly does it mean when people say they have like a "3in cut out'? It seems like a lot of you guys have it.

After the exhaust manifold or header, instead of going to the traditional exhaust system, there is a "y" pipe installed. On one of the "legs" of the "Y" connects to the traditional cat back style exhaust and the other "leg" is blocked but can be opened so the exhaust gases can bypass the full exhaust system.

and also it will make your car roar like crazy lol sounds really good you dont need stereo to be intertain lol love the sound of it, but the side effect is in ur wallet it drains the gas too quick lol

hmmm my car can always be a llil louder, how much does this typically cost , and what type of place to do it? and any hp gain?

I got the factory tail pipes and i was told that if you put some big round tail pipes ur sound is a bit louder dunno. I've hear that it gives 10hp if so.. mm you can get it online http://www.lmperformance.com/2898/2.htmlcheck that website out, and if you want to go even more check out the manual openers when ever u want to u can just open the valve with a hit of a button check it out.

you can get cut outs that are controled with a cable. the only thing is they wont hold back pressure on the o2 sensors so your car wont realy run right.

I'm not aware of backpressure affecting O2 sensor readings, but I suppose it's possible. at any rate, you should probably dummy plug it just to be safe.
