Cooling

these cars are designed to run 195* at 160* the computer will get confused and not go into open loop (i think thats what it called)
ohh and that dam is held on with 10mm bolts so no need for the whole tool box, unless your like me and spend 10 min pulling the part you need and 2 hrs walking around looking for treasures.

Purple Ice® – Radiator Coolant Additive - Royal Purple
If the air dam doesn't cool it down enough you could check out this coolant additive. I know a few people who have used it to help with some more minor heat issues, if your cooling system is all functioning of course.

Same route, same speed, same outdoor temps. Appears to be running a little above the 180* thermostat temp now. Missing an airdam really screws with the cooling on these cars....lol.
Only thing now is the stoopid add coolant light stays on. I'm trying to relate the slight hot condition the other day when the light came on to why it now just stays on...Yes, the level is good. Maybe I overheated it and ruined it? Those things are expensive. Can they be cleaned?

your checking the coolant level in the radiator not the coolant reservor right? the coolant level sensor failing on the 4th gen is common. look at number 13 and 14 here 4th Gen LT1 F-Body Tech Aids

Yeah, read all that and yes, checking in the radiator. I think it just failed. I'm thinking it may just be still small pockets of air that need to work themselves out. Has not been that long since I had the system open for the water pump replacement. I'll just give it some time, monitor the level. If it does not go out after a couple weeks, I'll just unplug it. But as **** as I am about things, it will bug me so I'll end up spending the $60 to replace it. Even though it does not do anything besides turn on the light, it bugs me if something is not working right. Kinda like the ABS Inop light...I know I could just remove the bulb...lol
