Question coolinf fan mod issues

ok i am going to try to explain this the best i can i have a turn **** with 2 wires going into the fuse box where my fan relay would normally be and a metal wire with what looks like a temp sensor and it is being run into to the top radiator hose that connects to the thermostat housing.

long story short it keeps leaking coolant some times worse than others but i have to keep topping off the coolant every couple days. this is the second time its done got the belt wet to the point it messes with the power steering.

Question 1: is there a place to relocate the temp sensor to another location where it wont cause a coolant leak?

or:

Question 2 is there a relay i can swap out until next friday and buy the fan relay

i like the mod but i would rather have to have a switch inside so i can manually change it when need to.

Sounds like you're describing an aftermarket adjustable fan control? Take that probe out of the radiator hose (not surprised it leaks), and stick it into the fins of the radiator. I take it you aren't the one who put this on? Either the stock system wasn't working right, or someone wanted to have more control over the fan.

I suspect you will have to compensate by adjusting the control on the box to a lower temp. That is the limitation of an air sensor instead of one in the coolant, not as accurate and always with a bit cooler readings.

so it doesnt get hot to turn the fan on? my problem is i didnt put it on the car i dont know anything about it but the fact it was causing me loose coolant.

im just looking for when my temp needle is half way they kick on high which i liked cause the car never got to hot but that was with it in the hose that goes to the thermostat housing. So how would i hook one of these up to use it

The unit you have wasn't supposed to have the probe put in the radiator hose, it belongs in the fins.
When all else fails, read the instructions: http://static.summitracing.com/globa.../flx-30332.pdf
