Default coolant light problem

My coolant light on my 96 z28 keeps coming on, yet my coolant level is filled to the top and the dealership says that everything is ok. Is this a common problem? Is it an electrical problem?

They have trouble with the low level coolant sensor. This is located on the side of the radiator about two to three inches down. They and not expensive and it would be a good place to start, unless it is an electrical problem. I think it is only two wires, that would make it easy to troubleshoot.

I had the same problem with my 94', the sensor is cheap and easy to change. You can get at the dealer.

My 96 z28 does the exact same thing. I beleive it has something to do with the sensor in the overflow. My mechanic was able to get it to go away for a couple of days, but it alwas comes back.

I don't think they have a sensor in the overflow tank. You can get the one in the Radiator at about any parts store. Simple enough that you can do it yourself and save some money.
