You have the stock SS air box made by SLP right? I have a K&N air filter in mine that I got from the autozone. They had the listing for it.

i had one...dropped it in and there was a gap that i didn't feel comfortable with...compared it to OEM and it was a slightly different size. this was a couple years ago so maybe its changed since then. i'd love to not have to look at that ugly *** white filter on the top of my engine anymore, lol

i just went and looked at K&n's site...found this for a 97 camaro with the 5.7

part number-33-2042 (exc SS)

height: 1.125 inches
outside length: 11.5 inches
outside width: 6 inches

in my computer database here at work...the filter i actually have in my airbox that fits is carquest number 88077 with the dimensions

height: 1.5 inches
length: 13.5 inches
width: 6.5 inches

theres a pretty big difference there

now the air filter i show for a NON SS is carquest part number 88117 with the dimensions:

length: 11.5 inches
height: 1.125 inches
width: 6 inches

thats the same dimensions as the K&N filter...

so green arrow...i'm not sure how you got one that fit, lol. maybe you should order me one and it will magically fit in my car or something, haha

All i know is that I have a K&N filter that has no slop and fits. I bought the SS ram air box from SLP and all I said to them was I need a filter for a 96 SS and that's what came up on their screen as well as the other brands.

It's also possible SLP resized their intake to fit a filter since Wham's is going to be the original from 96/97 and yours is an after the fact sort of application.

And Wham...you own a parts store? Want to hook a buddy up?!
