Goodbye Opti! LT1 runs w/ coil packs and LS1 PCM. - LS1TECH

This is a long, but extremely informative thread on the subject. It's something I wanted to do to my car a while, but due to cost and what I want my vehicle for, I've decided it wasn't a necessity.

you can go with a efi system but like said very expensive. https://www.eficonnection.com/eficonnection/24xLT1.aspx
or you can go with a ltcc system for less. still not cheap. FULL THROTTLE SPEED - LT1 COIL CONVERSION

I was going to do the LTCC conversion on my Vette, I have already gathered up the necessary coils and wires. Now I'm selling the car, so there goes that plan! You still need to keep the optispark for spark timing, so you're not totally getting rid of everything that's problematic with the original setup. Our member Greenarrow has converted his over, you can shoot him a PM and ask if he thinks it's worth doing.

So if you had an opti that was working perfectly fine, would you say the LTCC isn't worth the money doing just for the heck of it?
Even if you had a bad opti (bad optics or bearings), you would still need to fix that in addition to the LTCC changeover.

It would cost as much to swap to a LS based motor to do a 24x swap.

I was wondering about the ltcc because I looked at jets I think it was for the msd oppti setup and it was like 1200 dollars.it seems like it is cheaper to go with the ltcc.have you had any ignition problems with the ltcc crabby or has it been more dependable then the standard oppti?
