so im puttin my lt1 back together and i need the shaft between the cam and distributer. well the dealer says the distrubuter and the shaft are one and im not buyin a new distributer so does anyone know where i can find just the shaft?

well a 93 has a shaft with teeth on it that goes into the end of the camshaft. 94 to 97 are the years that are driven by a pin that sticks out of the cam and has a shaft that rests inside the cam with no teeth.

actually 94's have the same pin key opti drive shaft. where was the drive shaft?? still in the timing cover?

 

Actually, it was about mid-year 94 when the opti design was updated.
But we won't split hairs!

 

well i took my motor apart about 3 years ago so its lost and i looked everywhere

 

but just ordered one so im all set
