It will need reprogramming if it does not come from the same yr and tranny ect....not sure about Firebird to Z28 or connectors.
Why are you looking for another PCM ?

Those are two completely different types of computers. The 95 is OBDI and the the 97 is OBDII. The 97 is going to look for things that the 95 car is not able to provide. So, whover reprograms the 97 will have to delete all the items not available from the 95 car, and then reprogram fuel and timing tables. Good luck!!

It is easy if you know how, and ave the proper tools. Otherwise you will have to hunt up a tuner that knows how to do it, and it won't be cheap. You heard the old saying "knowledge is power to charge a lot". Why dond you get one from a 96 or 97 which are OBDII. What makes you think you need a new PCM? These things are probabley the most bullet proof pieces in the car.

well im having a weird problem, never had it before, my car will run fine for 2 min then run horrible, it just keeps going back and fourth, it misfires horrible, running lean, low voltage on one o2 sensor, manufacture fuel code, i have put all new o2s on, new mass air flow sensor, new opti, wires and plugs, check all fuel injections and lines, and sock on fuel pump. so im leaning towards the computer. it acts up with any little change, put gas in it and it runs horrible then it gets better, then worse, its all over the place. i have no idea.

both if you like. with the right programs you can burn or you can see what the sensors are doing that way when its missing you will be able to see what is getting bad info. a good scanner for obd2 should do the same but not as detailed.
