Default Cold Air Kit

I just picked up my first Gen 4 Camaro.. 96 Z28... I would like to install a cold air intake kit on it.. Does anyone have any recomondations? Are the cheap $60 ones on ebay any good?

I am also thinking of installing a shock tower brace too.. Is that mainly for looks or do they actually help strengthen up the front end?

SLP makes a good CAI, K&N makes a good one also and Moroso. There are a bunch of other, but those are the good ones. The cheap ones on ebay, well you get what you pay for. Strut tower braces do have a purpose and they work, do you really need on though, depends on what you're doing with your car, or if you got the money it don't matter.

Of course I did, I knows my stuff. Yeah, you really don't need it, I just thought it looked cool, that's why I got it, but it does work well for tearing up corners.

do something original and buy a air inlet elbow...drill a hole into it from the front put in a fuel injector run steel braided line to a winshield washer tank mounted in the trunk, get a good pump and spray a good dose of water methanol into the intake. Get great gains and run cooler. 60+ horsepower on your stock motor 50/50 mixture. Less $ than anything else. Oh yeah use a 72# injector and place a switch around the cd holder. :-D

Works like a dam charm..no bs but dont tell anyone else.;-D I can send you pictures and tell you exactly how i set mine up. send me an im though dont want e1 out there with my secrets. ha ha You need a good pump and regulator though. just dont waste your money on a kit when it is so easy to do yourself. very safe too. Just look at the kit they sell..http://www.alkycontrol.com/ what a joke! i did embellish a little about his gain. Ive never put one on a stock lt1 but mine did pick up 58hp. I got the idea from my friend who runs a turbo neon..he designed one for his and it cooled the exhaust gases exponentially. We put it on the dyno and tuned it around town and on the dyno for a week and it gained 80 hp...so the wheels started turning. I did a little research and discovered that natural aspirated applications have shown huge gains too.
