Default cold air intake...?

Ok 2 questions..

1. Why do alot of intake systems I see always say "excludes vehicles with traction control" cuz mine has that.. is it in the way or something?

2. What kind should i get or should i just build my own?

1. The TCS module sits where some of the intakes claim they need to go. I've never seen anyone have any issues with it.

2. You can build your own, but typically a good CAI (read: K&N, Moroso) can be found used for a reasonable price and it will flow better. You can't custom mold a piece of plastic as smooth and keep the internal cross sectional area as constant as the guys that design them can. Just shop around and wait for a good price to come up.

seems like i remember there was a guy that said he had to use the slp one to get it to fit with the tc, i think it was a 6 though. in any case it may be a good idea to order from a place like sumit that will let u send it back if it doesnt fit.

My Dad used to own a Firebird with an LT1 and TCS and we had a Moroso intake on it and it fit fine. That said, Craby has a good point that if you order from a large store you can return the product.

I've had a moroso and K&n. I like my K&n better on the one car. There is plenty of guys on the forums I am on running intakes with traction control. Shownomercy which has a le2 head/sprayed car is running one. Did have traction control on it. I am not sure what he has but I can ask for you.
