Cold air or chip?

theres not much you can buy in that price range and install yourself and see a huge difference. other things like gears,cam etc you could afford but the install would kill you so idk. i'd just get an intake and exhaust or save your money for something better down the road. thats just my .02

yep 6 bills will get you a fare exhaust and cai. then save for a tune, the tune will give you more power and in most cases better mpg. tune is 190 bucks if you send your ecm in. $115 core if not. moroso cai is 200 bucks and good exhaust is 4 to 900 bucks.

Couls I buy a Performance chip? Like a hypertech or jet? They say 5 mpg ans 30-60 hp.

some chips will trick your computer into thinking the motor is cold all the time, the computer will run the motor rich all the time. some are set to a certain program for all of them doesnt adjust for variations in the build of the motor. sorta a one size fits all deal. second best is a tune to the computer (aka ecu, aka ecu) taking into account the mods to the motor and running gear. the best tune is a dyno tune where the car is adjusted under real conditions and hp and torque are maximized.

there is another ecu tuner that is cheaper but im waitin to get a couple more good reports on him before i start recomending him.

ive heard 3 to 600 bucks. ill be finding out in the near future.

I found a place in Houston that does it for $450.
