changin opti

Default changin opti

Do you have to take the harmonic ballancer off to get the opti out? And what else besides the water pump

One thing to add. That link says you need a puller to remove the lower pulley from the hub, you don't. The pulley is a slip fit onto the hub, but rust gets between the two and locks it on. Soak it with penetrating oil. Then take a length of 2x2 wood, and from under the car, put it against the back of the pulley and whack the block with a hammer, working side to side. Once you wire brush the rust off both parts, the pulley will slide right back onto the hub. And, are you going to replace the water pump timing chain cover seal? I posted a how-to on that procedure.

ya i had a puller so i just used it worked out great, but let me say what kind of ***** it is to do the opti, like wow, i knew it would be intesive, but to this. haha like damn, lol and for all you who havnt done it and dont think its bad, think again, its not bad but its more than you think haha and thanks for the link, thats awsome

got the seals done, they didnt look bad but better safe then sorry, and i really dont feel like tearing everything off again to do them later

do i want to rvt the cap on the opti before i install it?

Yes, you do.
For the water pump seal, did you make your own installation tool or buy one?
