Default center console shifter bulb replacement

96 Z28 with an A4.... The bulb in my center console is out, kind of a pain at night as I'll occasionally overshift into Neutral when trying to get into reverse. Just wondering if anyone can tell me how to tear apart the console to get to the bulb and what size bulb it is? thanks!

i think your going to have the take the shifter **** off. theres a staple looking thing in the front of the sifter that you pull out and the **** comes off. then the section of the console should pop out. mine comes up fairly easily from the back. once up then youll see where the bulb is.

Ok, thanks.... The console itself does come up pretty easily, but I wasn't sure how the shifter **** came off, which it definitely needs to. I did figure out that it's a type 73 bulb which I might replace with an LED since they last a lot longer.
