hi their i just put a cc304 in my 94 lt1 i took everying apart and put it back the same way. i put the dots on the timing chain gear and the sprocket for the crank alliengned like the book says. installed the opti spark the same position with the grooves in the shaft. i went to go start the car and it wont start like the timing is off. did i miss somthing? i was wonderin if the opti spark went bad since i moved it around or somethin the car has 106,000 on it. i only undid the 1357 wires from the opti. it pops and back fires any ideas

 

how old is the opti? better tripple check the wires to make sure there in the right places. easy to mix 5 and 7.

 

the opti is origanal had bunch of grease on it i cleaned it with a dry cloth i double checked my wiring on the opti i did have 5 and 7 mixed i switched them around and it trys to start but nothin 106,000 miles on the car

 

Pops & backfires: have you adjusted the valves properly after the cam change?

 

id say its time for a new opti. it may not be the issue but you vary rarely see an opti go much more than 100k. new spark plugs? what brand?

 

ok just checked for spark i pulled number one plug and have no sparkthen i checked the top of the opti to the ignition coil n i have a nice bright spark but its orange bad opti signs?
