from the sound of your post you need to do some research on the stroker. i will be sending my block in to a good well recomended shop to set it up. i will recomend you do the same if your doin it. elliotts is a good place to have the heads and intake done, also he is a great source of info on cams and valve train. the man works wonders.

hotcam is old technology and definitely not ideal for a 383. heck, i wouldn't consider it ideal for a stock block. there are MUCH better choices out there

Really depends more on the other mods besides the bore and stroke. If you plan on leaving it stock the hotcam would be good or check out compcams.com and fill out a cam reccomendation form. Find out what mods u want to do and then get a cam that fits in with your equation. Also a cam wouldnt be the first thing i would mod. I would do exhaust and air intake stuff first. A cam need to be able to breathe in and out (intake/exhaust). If you just want the sound of a cam i would go with something mild but even then if it were me id do the intake and exhaust.

you will need a cold air intake to go along with the headers and catback.

may want to look into a different exhaust than flowmaster

you're going to have to get different pistons and(to be safe) rods to go inside as well. i recommend going all forged IN CASE you decide to throw the bottle at it later on.

to really maximize your gains, you're going to want to for sure get a cam(as you eluded to in your first post) along with better flowing heads. i believe someone earlier mentioned lloyd elliott and there really isn't a better guy you could talk to about it
